Ilidža is close to the city and close to the airport at the same time, which is why a large share of our enquiries come from here. Our office is a few minutes away, and pickup at another address in Ilidža is arranged when you book.
Ilidža is where a large share of visitors arriving by air actually stay, because the hotels are near the airport and cheaper than in the centre. The catch is that Ilidža sits far enough out that the tram costs you half an hour each way.
So the car here is usually taken by people staying longer than three days who plan to leave the city. From Ilidža you reach the motorway towards Mostar and towards Zenica without going through the centre at all.
Velika aleja is closed to traffic — you walk to the spring, or take a horse-drawn carriage. You leave the car at the park entrance, so here the car gets you there and back rather than around.
If you are in Ilidža for the spa, you only need the car for day trips. Bjelašnica is about forty minutes away, and Konjic and Jablanica lake are within the hour.
Ilidža and the airport are effectively neighbours, which is why we base vehicles close by. If you land and stay in Ilidža, take the car straight from the terminal — delivery to Sarajevo Airport is free — and drive to your accommodation without a separate transfer.
The same on the way out. Return the car at the airport on the day you fly instead of returning it the day before and then looking for a taxi to your accommodation.
Unlike the centre, parking here is generally not a problem. Hotels and apartments have their own spaces, and street parking in the neighbourhood is free outside the small area around the tram terminus.
The car park by the entrance to Velika aleja fills up on summer weekends, so set off earlier if you are going then.
